Daughter of the Moon

Daughter of the Moon

Beguiled by the borrowed light

Illuminated by the Sun

Bright gold chastened

Silver hues, the moon’s ethereal glow

The rising moon lights the reticular

Tips of stark Oak branches

Arrayed against the glittery sky

An ornate candelabrum

Symmetry of light and dark

Anticipate with watchful eyes, the coming eclipse

Darkness will reign soon

An eclipse feared by people of old,

A portent of disaster, the wrath of the Gods

Evil monsters, malevolent creatures,

A dragon, a serpent, a ravenous wolf

Devouring the beacon of the night

That lights the way on journeys

Over a darkened country side

You know there is nothing to fear

Only a time of waning,

A slow ebbing away

Introspection and abeyance

A shadow cast by the earth

Looking inward, balance and contrast,

On the shadows that all earthly beings own

Acknowledgement

And letting go

What we deem as baneful

Considering the rest

The Great Marriage

Union of Sun and Moon conjoined

Mysteries best pondered in the dark
